Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat for juicier burgers)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.)
Instructions:
Preheat the Grill or Pan:
- If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. If using a stovetop pan, set it over medium-high heat.
Form the Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
- Gently shape each portion into a patty, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Season each patty with salt and pepper on both sides.
Cook the Patties:
- Place the patties on the grill or in the pan.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare burgers, or longer if you prefer your burgers more well-done.
- If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty about a minute before they are done and cover to melt.
Toast the Buns:
- While the burgers are cooking, cut the buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until they're lightly golden.
Assemble the Burgers:
- Place each cooked patty on the bottom half of a bun.
- Add your favorite toppings – lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, condiments, and any other toppings you love.
- Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve your homemade burgers hot and enjoy with your favorite sides, such as fries, coleslaw, or a salad.
